Award-winning director and choreographer helps actors improve their odds of getting the job. Joel Ferrell`s Musical Theater Audition Workshop will be held March 1 and 2, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., at Bryant Hall in The Dallas Theater Center.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) February 6, 2004-–Award-winning director and choreographer Joel Ferrell will conduct an exclusive Musical Theater Audition Workshop, March 1 and 2, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., at Bryant Hall in The Dallas Theater Center.

"Actors must be knowledgeable, shrewd, and clever when preparing for an audition,” says Ferrell. “Many extremely talented actors have let career-making opportunities slip by because they didn’t master the art of self-presentation. Every actor can improve their odds of getting the job with the right help!"

Ferrell will conduct the workshop with pianist Jeff Lankov, who recently served as musical director for productions by Radio City Music Hall, Dallas Summer Musicals, and Dallas Theater Center.

The workshop will cover a variety of topics including:

How to research an audition;
How to choose the right auditioning material;
How to choose the right headshot;
How to take direction at an audition; and
How to better communicate with the accompanist.

Actors can sign up for the workshop as a Participant ($100) or as an Observer ($50). All attendees will receive an "Audition Cheat Sheet," a resource every musical theater actor should have, as well as the expertise of two of the area`s finest musical theater professionals.

Workshop Participants will receive individual coaching from Ferrell and Lankov. Those students should bring two contrasting musical audition pieces in order to receive individual coaching.

This workshop is open to any actor currently working, or interested, in musical theater. Space is limited and payment for the workshop must be received by February 23 to secure a seat.

Interested actors should call Shannon McGrann at (817) 690-3527 or send email to e-mail protected from spam bots.
